Early Morning, 2014 Jan 02
SIMILAR TO OTHER POPULAR ROCK CLIMBING AREAS in Joshua Tree National Park, the Cap Rock nature trail and picnic ground has its covey of “named” rocks and climbs. The venerable host of Cali49 website, E!, and I toured this easy interpretive walk at Cap Rock first thing in the morning on January 2, after a leg-stretching 8.4 mile jaunt at Lost Horse Mine the day before. If you wish to, please click the link for Elliot’s Interpretive Interpretation of Cap Rock Nature Trail to see his crisp Nikon photographs. If only my Fuji 3D camera had lenses this superb! And be sure to browse his other JTNP pages. He’s posted many. One of my favorites, because of its obscure locale in the Park and its catchy title is the Car Wash. Good grief! What in the name of all that is clever could cause so many 1940s and 1950s rust-buckets to end up there! Enjoy E!’s slideshow.
